Prime Sponsor of HB 129 The Florida Virtual School: This bill removes certain provisions relating to Florida Virtual School giving priority to certain students, changes who may call board of trustees meetings, changes how state funding is provided to FLVS, allows FLVS to accrue supplemental revenue from direct-support organizations, revises some existing requirements for board approval, revises some powers and responsibilities of the FLVS Board of Trustees, updates financial reporting and accountability rules, and revises some requirements that apply to students. This bill places a high emphasis on career education.

Prime Sponsor of HF 1597 UCF Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Clinic: Provides an appropriation of $1,000,000 to the University of Central Florida for retention of personnel at the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Clinic to provide the needed services at no cost for Florida’s veterans, military personnel, first responders and victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting who suffer from PTSD.

Prime Sponsor of HF 1106 Seminole State College – Workforce Building B: Provides an appropriation of $10,000,000 to Seminole State College for the construction of a new workforce, science, and technology building to expand instructional and training space for high-demand programs such as nursing, health care, respiratory therapy, and other critical workforce fields. This request advances the project beyond planning and design toward full construction.

Prime Sponsor of HF 1234 Seminole County Juvenile Drug Court: Provides an appropriation of $565,000 to maintain, enhance, and expand the juvenile drug court program in Seminole County.

Prime Sponsor of HF 1052 Inspire of Central Florida – Operation G.R.O.W. (Giving Real Opportunities for Work): Provides an appropriation of $496,104 to Operation G.R.O.W. enhancing existing abilities of program participants by developing additional life enrichment and job readiness skills to secure competitive, integrated employment. This is accomplished through real-world work and volunteer experiences, classroom instruction, and partnerships with local businesses.

Prime Sponsor of HF 1129 Dr. Phillips Center’s Theater Sound System Renovation: Provides an appropriation of $800,000 to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts to modernize the decade-old Walt Disney Theater sound system to deliver world-class audio, improve clarity in every seat, reduce load-in time, lower rental costs, and enhance assisted-listening access. This renovation keeps the venue competitive for first-run tours, protects revenue, and reinforces the Dr. Phillips Center as a premier cultural destination attracting audiences locally, statewide, and internationally.

Prime Sponsor of HF 1359 Altamonte Springs Reuse Augmentation Facility: Provides an appropriation of $2,000,000 to the City of Altamonte Springs to double the treatment capacity of stormwater for use as a supplement for reclaimed water for irrigation uses. This reduces Floridian Aquifer withdrawals by providing reclaimed water for irrigation, improves groundwater and surface water quality, protects the Wekiva River and Basin, and Advances the Wekiva Basin Management Action Plan, and the Central Florida Water Initiative Compliance.

Prime Sponsor of HF 1988 Oviedo Public Safety Training Center: Provides an appropriation of $500,000 to the City of Oviedo for enhanced training for members of the Oviedo Fire Department, as well as a faster response time for units that will be able to stay within their service area.

Prime Co-Sponsor of HB 199 Veterans Affairs: This bill revises the admissions process for veteran treatment court programs by modifying eligibility requirements, revising rules of judicial authority, requiring notice to eligible defendants, and establishing procedures for probation violations involving program participants.

Prime Co-Sponsor of HB 277 Domestic Violence and Protective Injunctions: This bill strengthens penalties for repeat domestic violence offenders, establishes an electronic monitoring pilot program in a designated county, requires an evaluation of the programs, and improves statewide tracking of dating violence and sexual violence injunctions.

Prime Co-Sponsor of HB 1019 Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances: This bill prohibits the use and sale of PFAS-containing firefighting foam, requires inventories and disposal plans, establishes enforcement measures, and mandates PFAS testing of certain wastewater biosolids and treated effluent until federal and state standards are adopted.
